I've heard of this happening, and it did happen to me once, but it didn't last more than a couple days. Lucky for me because I have been on IV as well as oral antibiotics for months at a time a few times in my life. I don't have any advice except to make sure your doctor knows what is happening.

I've heard of this happening too. When you had the antibiotics switched, did they switch you to a different type of antibiotic? I know there are several different classes of antibiotics, and you can be allergic to all the antibiotics in one class.

I'd say stop taking the medication.
I myself, am against taking medication, and I think it's just as bad as what it's supposed to cure.
If you stop taking this, your problems will go away.
I'm not saying don't take meds at all, but you should take a different kind, like Brooke said.

But, wouldn't the change from one medication to another have to be gradual? if you stop taking a medication altogether, and then immediately switch to a different one, the patient could go through withdrawl symptoms.

You can buy imodium over the counter for diarrhea. I hear you though: Antibiotics can make me stop eating because of nausea. Good luck to you.
